Anti aging routine for your hands

August 7, 2019

Beauty experts talk all the time about anti aging skin care routines for the face and neck, but how often do we give hands the treatment they deserve? Hands are one of the first spots to reveal your age.

Also, keeping hands clean is one of the most important steps we can take to avoid getting sick and spreading germs to others. Many diseases and conditions are spread by not washing hands with soap and clean running water. There are lots of bacterias per square centimeter of skin on your hand. One of the best ways to prevent bacteria related illnesses and other infectious diseases is to wash your hands with soap, liquid, and water. After washing, you must also dry your hands thoroughly with a clean towel or air dryer. Learning good hand hygiene habits is essential to reducing the spread of germs.

Tips and tricks: It’s important to keep your hands clean, but using an antibacterial hand soap can dry out your skin. Instead, wash your hands with a moisturizing soap that contains hydrating ingredients, such as shea butter, olive oil, or aloe vera, to avoid stripping the natural oils from your skin.

  • When you wash your hands, avoid using hot water, which can also dry out your skin.
  • Don’t worry about washing your hands too much — it’s important to wash regularly to keep your hands as free of germs as possible. At the very least, you should wash your hands before you eat and after you use the bathroom. You should also wash after changing a diaper, interacting with animals, or any time that your hands appear dirty.

Whether it’s with a handshake or a friendly wave, your hands can make a very strong first impression. That’s why you want them to be soft, smooth, and as healthy as possible. Taking care of them may seem easy, but you want to be sure that you’re using the right so the skin doesn’t get dry and cracked. It’s also important to protect your hands from things that can irritate them, such as the sun, water, and household chores.

Regular sunscreen application can obviously protect you from sunburns and skin cancer, but it can also do a pretty solid job of shielding your hands from the aging side effects of the sun. Sadly, though, hands can sometimes become an afterthought when you’re focused on covering the rest of your exposed body in SPF.

The hands are not protected as well as other areas of skin (by clothing or makeup) and are exposed daily to the sun. Ultraviolet radiation from the sun causes about 80 percent of the skin changes that are associated with aging.

Use a hand scrub once a week to buff away the dry, rough skin and keep your hands soft and healthy. Wet your hands with lukewarm water, and massage a small amount of the scrub over both of your hands, working in circular motions. Rinse it off with warm water, and apply a hand cream.

To ensure that your hands stay soft, you should use a hand cream several times a day. Look for a formula that contains emollient ingredients, (glycerin, shea butter, and natural oils) such as Forever Flawless BRILLIANCE Nail Care Kit / Manicure Treatment, a balanced formulation of essential oils, plant extracts, skin-nourishing vitamins, minerals, and antioxidants, it will keep skin hydrated, nourished, and rejuvenated so your hands feel soft, supple and smooth and your skin glows like a flawless diamond.

Directions For Use Smooth onto hands and massage lightly but thoroughly until fully absorbed. For best results, always use after washing hands. Also perfect after a manicure. If your hands start to feel dry at any point during the day, reapply then as well.

You’ll have an easier time keeping your nails clean if you groom them properly. Use nail clippers to keep them at a length that you like, and file them with a crystal nail file or gentle emery board into a neat shape, such as a square or oval.

  • It’s also a good idea to use a cuticle remover and cuticle pusher to keep your cuticles neat. The cuticle is the thin hand of skin around your nail. The remover softens the skin, so you can easily push it back with a metal cuticle pusher or a wooden orange stick. Never cut your cuticles — the skin may get infected.

Plenty of the tasks that you have to do around the house can do damage to your hands. Whether you’re washing dishes, doing yard work, or working with tools, always put on a pair of protective gloves first. That will keep your hands from getting dry, cracked, and callused.

Steps for home manicure

  • Start with clean, bare nails- remove your polish.
  • Soak hands in warm water for 5 minutes- you can add  3-5 drops of essential oils, but that is completely optional. If you do add essential oils, lavender, grapefruit, and eucalyptus are good for hand care. It’s important to soak hands first so that you soften any dead skin so it’s easier to exfoliate. It also helps moisture soak deeper into your skin.
  • Scrub hands with a sugar scrub-  rub it around  hands. Try to focus on cuticles and any area of  hand that needs extra exfoliation. After that wash the sugar and extra oil off with warm water.
  • Apply cuticle oil and hand cream.

You will not spend a lot of time or money on your hands, but a few minutes every day and a half hour every other week makes a huge difference.
